About Us

This project is being created by Mrs. B's science students. It is our first attempt at building a website for a class. The end result should have information about different types of animals and their habitats.

Our animal information

HUSKY

A Female husky is called bitch.
A baby husky is called a puppy.
Huskies can live in our houses with us, some people keep them in kennels or in dog houses.
The average weight for females is 75 pounds and the average weight for males is 95 pounds.

 Donkey

Baby name-foal
The life span of a donkey is around 25 years.
Donkeys are found in North Africa they can live in pastures or barns.

Cow

A cow can live in a small shelter called a barn and spends lots of time in a pasture.
Interesting fact- In Packistan some people let cows live in the house with them.

Interesting fact Domestic chickens can not fly. They live together in a flock.
Life cycle chickens hatch from eggs then they are called chicks then they grow up and are called chickens.

Skunk

Skunks are different colors, the most common being black and white.  The baby skunks are called kits.  Their diet is meat and plants. They can be found in Maine in the woods.

Black Rhino       

Black Rhinos are in danger people kill rhinos for there horns.
They  weigh 5.000 pounds and stand 5 feet tall 14 feet long.
They can live in water holes and mud wallows.

Common Kingfisher

The Kingfisher is a bird, they are blue, black and brown. They are found in Europe, Southern Asia, North America, Japan, and the solomon Islands. A Kingfishers life cycle starts with an egg that hatches, becomes a fledgling and then an adult.

Leopard

A leopard nurses her young. A leopard protects itself by climbing trees. They live to be 15 to 20 years old.  The leopards only predators are humans, lions and hyenas.  The leopards spots are for camouflage.  They are found in Asia and Africa.

Moose

Did you know?? The moose can store over 100 pounds of food in its stomach. It can run 35 mph and can easily swim 10 miles. Moose are chocolate brown in color, the males have antlers and all moose have a “dwelap” that hangs down below their neck.                                     Habitat                                                                                          The Moose has a diet of willow, aspen, and aquatic plants. These planst grow in patches,so moose must roam the landscape looking for food. When they find a surce of food they will often return to the same place year after year to fed.                                                                        LifeCycle                                                                                            The rut (mating season) extends from September through November, when a bull attends only one female at a time (although he may breed with several cows or females in one season). Calves are born in the spring after an eight-month gestation period.
